Svadobný baldachýn (hebr. חוּפָּה) z roku 1907 je umiestený nad exponátmi v Múzeu židovskej kultúry v Žiline. Pod prenosným baldachýnom sa vykonávali svadobné obrady. Baldachýn stojí na štyroch tyčiach, ktorí držia štyria slobodní muži a znázorňuje dom novomanželov. Po úvodnom obrade ženícha odvedú na miesto pod baldachýnom, nevesta sa k nemu pripojí a začína sa svadobný obrad. Rabín prednesie požehnanie nad pohárom vína a svadobný pár sa z pohára napije. Ženích dá neveste prsteň na pravý ukazovák a prednesie: "Buď mi požehnaná týmto prsteňom v súlade so zákonom Mojžiša a Izraela." Nasleduje čítanie svadobnej zmluvy, ktorú ženích odovzdá neveste. Na záver formálnej časti obradu prednesie oddávajúci sedem svadobných požehnaní. Nakoniec ženích rozdrví pravou nohou pohár ako symbol smútku nad skazou Chrámu v Jeruzaleme.

Wedding Canopy dating back to 1907 is situated above the exposition at the Museum of Jewish Culture in Zilina. Marriage ceremonies took place under the portable canopy. The canopy represents the house of the newly-weds, and its four wooden poles are held up by four single men. After the opening ceremony, the groom is taken away to stand under the canopy and is joined by his soon-to-be wife, marking the start of the wedding ceremony. The Rabbi blesses the couple while holding a glass of red wine, and then the couple drinks from the cup. The groom places the wedding ring on the right forefinger of his new wife and says “Behold, you are betrothed unto me with this ring, according to the law of Moses and Israel." The groom then reads from the marriage contract, which he then gives to his new wife. Towards the end of the formal ceremony, the seven blessings are recited, and the end of the ceremony is marked by the groom breaking a glass with his right foot as a symbol of sadness at the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.
