Pohľad od Svätostánoku (Aron kodeš) do modlitebne. Vpredu uprostred ortodoxnej modlitebne je umiestený almemor (אלממור). Na almemore sa nachádza čítací stôl (שולחן, šulchan), na ktorý sa kladie a z ktorého je predčítana Sefer Tóra (שפר תורה‎), ktorá sa sem prenášala pred bohoslužbami zo Svätostánku. Okrem Tóry je z almemora predčítaný napríklad zvitok Ester pri sviatku Purim. Z alememora mával tiež rabín svoju drašu (draša, דרשה, výklad, homíliu). Z posvätnej Tóry text rabín odvíjal z pergamenového pásu natočeného na dvoch valčekoch. Odtiaľto tiež rabín vyhlasoval všetky príkazy cirkevné, obecné, zdravotné, ale aj pokyny k súkromnému a rodinnému životu. Lavice sú usporiadané v radách a smerovali čelom k svätostánku a almemoru pri východnej stene synagógy. Ženy nemali do vysvätenej časti synagógy prístup a sedeli v priestore za drevenou mrežou, kde sa teraz nachádza expozícia múzea. Almemor slúži ako pripomienka udalostí popisovaných v knihe Exodus, kedy boli Izraeliti zhromaždení okolo hory Sinaj vo chvíli, kedy Boh udeľoval ľuďom Tóru. Tak ako boli Izraeliti zhromaždení okolo hory, tak sú aj dnes židia zhromaždení okolo almemora, z ktorého je Tóra predčítaná.

View from the Aron Kodesh to the prayer hall. Towards the front, in the middle of the orthodox prayer hall is situated the almemor, or bima. On the almemor (pulpit) is the reading table, on which the Sefer Torah is placed and read from. The Sefer Torah was placed here from its place on the Aron Kodesh before prayer services were held. Besides the Torah being read from the almemor (pulpit), there is also a reading from the Ester Scrolls during the festival of Purim. The almemor (pulpit) is also where the Rabbi made his annual homily, reading text from the holy Torah, written on parchment and fastened on both sides with rollers. The Rabbi not only gave sermons on religion, common law, health, but also gave instruction for private and family life.
Benches are arranged in rows by the eastern wall of the synagogue, and faced the Aron Kodesh and the almemor (pulpit). Women were not allowed into the prayer hall and sat at the back of the room behind a wooden partition, the area where the museum’s exposition is held today. The almemor 9pulpit) serves as a reminder of the events that are written about in the Book of Exodus, when Israelites gathered around Mount Sinai the moment God administered the Torah to the people. Just as the Israelites were gathered around the mountain, so today are Jews gathered around the almemor, from where the Torah is read.
