In the eighteenth century, this house belonged to the Janáč family, followed by the Slatíni squire family, two of whom became mayors: Ján and Ladislav. Ladislav held the office of mayor from 1760 to 1774, four times in total. Ladislav Slatíni was the owner of the house from 1751 to 1779, then his heirs sold it to Samuel Dlabač for 600 florins. In the end, they even went to court over the house. In the end, the house went to the Nedecký family following the court’s decision, who then sold it in 1801 to Ján Ertl. Ján Ertl only owned the house for a short time, because he sold it in 1805 to Štefan Adamic for 1,550 florins. After his death, Andrej Ďuriš owned the house following his marriage with the former’s widow, and he sold it to his father, Juraj, in 1820 for 1,000 florins. The Ďuriš family and its heirs owned the house until 1917, when it was bought for 35,000 crowns by Štefan Tvrdý the elder, the descendant of an old Žilina family, who was even mayor of Žilina in 1899. Shortly after, five years later in 1922, his heirs sold the house to Jozef Tatár. From 1925, the owner of the house was Július Tatár who paid off all the other co-owners.
After the nationalisation of the house in 1952, there was a shoe shop – Vesna – then the Odevný závod Žilina (Žilina clothing factory) and from 1961 Odevy. The Tatár family were some of the most important traders in Žilina. They owned the biggest rug and carpet shop in Žilina, most of which were imported from abroad, but local products were also sold. There were good value rugs, as well as very expensive Persian and oriental items. They also sold linoleum, a completely new fashion product at the time. The company was officially called the “Július Tatár Factory warehouse of rugs and furniture fabrics Žilina”. During the socialist period, there were clothes shops here.
The building has two wings with alternating passages. It has a fold back staircase with a skylight on the first floor. The area under the staircase leads to the cellar, which is divided into two parts, made of stone masonry with a high stone vault. The courtyard has been covered over with a metal roof. The terraced house built on a long plot of land with a courtyard area stands on an older, probably Gothic, cellar. The originally Renaissance building from the sixteenth to seventeenth century was rebuilt at the end of the nineteenth century. The building has two storeys, is divided into three segments with straight arcades on the ground floor. It has a preserved skylight and the staircase is situated in the very centre of the building. Even the original decoration on the skylight has remained. Like the previous houses, this one was also added in 1963 to the Central List of Cultural Monuments under the reference KP no.1407/0. In 1993, the house was partially reconstructed, apart from the roofing which is original and inclines towards the square. Restorers renovated the façade of the house, the skylight with the staircase and the courtyard, as well as the courtyard façade. The building is used as a clothes shop.
